There are times when images and words can NOT describe how mind-blowingly great a music performance was and Sunday night’s gig by Glasgow-based five-piece Ímar at Cyprus Avenue, Cork City illustrates this description perfectly.
The quintet simply raised the roof and stamped the floor with a breathtaking display of music combining guitar, fiddle, flute, tin whistle, uilleann pipes, bodhrán, bouzouki and Concertina. It was a special event for the band that was formed back in 2016 with members from England, Scotland and the Isle of Man all on their first visit to Cork. The night was extra special for uilleann piper Adam Brown [sic] who hails from Fermoy.
